When you visit and use Hopscotch ( and its related services, Hopscotch collects and maintains personal information about you to help you connect with employers and jobseekers.  This Privacy Policy is designed to explain how Hopscotch collects, uses and discloses your personal information.  This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Hopscotch does not own or control, or to individuals that Hopscotch does not employ or manage.  Please review this Privacy Policy, which governs your use of Hopscotch, to understand its practices.  By using Hopscotch or any of its related services, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Privacy Policy and Hopscotch’s Terms of Service, including its applicable limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes.
Hopscotch collects and stores any and all information you enter or provide to Hopscotch, including resumes, cover letters, job postings, and profile information.  Hopscotch also automatically collects information about how you use and interact with Hopscotch, including your clicks, views, and other actions taken on the Hopscotch website.  Hopscotch automatically collects this information in order to improve Hopscotch and your user experience, and to deliver customized, personalized content.  Hopscotch may also use this information in the aggregate to diagnose problems with our server or the Hopscotch site and related services. 
Hopscotch may collect publicly available information about you from third party sources, which we may combine with other personal information we have collected about you.
The primary reasons Hopscotch collects personal information include:
  • To provide Hopscotch’s services to you, to communicate with you about your use of Hopscotch, to respond to your inquiries, to fulfill your orders, process your payments and for other customer service purposes.
  • If you are a jobseeker, to share with recruiters and employers. If you are an employer, to share with jobseekers.
  • If you are an employer, to index and display your profile information through third party search engines.
  • To tailor the content and information that Hopscotch may send or display to you, to offer location customization, and to personalize your experience while using Hopscotch.
  • To understand how users access and use Hopscotch, both on an aggregated and individualized basis, in order to improve Hopscotch, and respond to user desires and preferences.
  • To personalize content and recommendations, and to send marketing and other promotional information, including information about jobs and other products and services in which Hopscotch thinks you may be interested.
  • As necessary to comply with Hopscotch’s legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce Hopscotch’s agreements (including this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service), to protect and defend Hopscotch’s rights, to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, and situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.  
  • Hopscotch may also use aggregate or de-identified information about users for other marketing, research and other purposes.
Hopscotch may provide your personal information to third parties under the following circumstances:
  • For Jobseekers: If you post a resume or create a profile, all information posted will be made available to potential employers, hiring managers, companies seeking employees, and other recruiters.  If you “favorite” a job on Hopscotch, your name, contact information, and other relevant information will be shared with the hiring manager, contact person, or recruit for the job you have applied to or chosen to “favorite”.  All such recruiters may potentially share your profile information and/or resume with others in connection with their search for potential job candidates.
  • For Potential Employers: If you are a potential recruiter or employer and you have created a profile or job opportunity, all information that you post will public and visible to jobseekers seeking job opportunities and other users of Hopscotch. In addition, your profile may be indexed and displayed through third party public search engines when someone searches for your name. Note that, although you may update your profile, these third-party search engines may not automatically update their caches, which may contain old profile information. Unless you delete it, your profile is always viewable. In addition, your activity on the site (e.g., searches, clicks, profile views, etc.) may be disclosed to jobseekers. All jobseekers are believed by us to be legitimately seeking job opportunities, however, Hopscotch is not liable for the actions of those jobseekers and their use of your information is not subject to this Privacy Policy.
  • Third Party Search Engines: Recruiter and Employer profile information is indexed and displayed through third party search engines.  Use by third parties of profile information disclosed on third party search engines is not subject to this Privacy Policy.
  • Service Providers: Hopscotch may share your information with its contractors and service providers who perform functions on behalf of Hopscotch. 
  • Legal Process: Hopscotch may disclose any personal information as required or as permitted by law, including judicial proceedings, court order, subpoena, or other legal process.
  • To Protect Hopscotch and Others: Hopscotch may also disclose your information as needed to protect its legal rights and enforce the terms of this Privacy Policy and Hopscotch’s Terms of Service.  Hopscotch may also use your information to prevent fraud, violations of this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service, or other illegal activities.
  • Business Transfers: Hopscotch may also provide your personal information to a buyer of Hopscotch’s business or assets.
  • Redacted Information Shared With Other Job Seekers: Hopscotch reserves the right to share certain anonymous or redacted information about you, such as your job title, educational history, years of experience, areas of expertise, salary range, and jobs you have applied for using Hopscotch, but your name and contact information will not be disclosed in such instances.
  • Aggregate Information: Hopscotch may also share other aggregate redacted information about users with third parties for marketing, advertising, research or similar purposes.
Use Of Cookies
Hopscotch uses cookies and other tracking technologies to collect information about you and about your use of Hopscotch. Specifically, Hopscotch may use cookies to allow for quicker access and login to Hopscotch and to deliver customized and personalized content.  
Cookies. Cookies are pieces of information that some websites transfer to your computer, through your web browser, for record-keeping purposes. Use of cookies makes web-surfing easier by performing certain functions such as saving  your passwords and your preferences regarding use of the particular website.  Cookies also allow us to track your activities on Hopscotch and provide you with personalized display advertising.
Third Party Cookies. Hopscotch may also engage third parties to track and analyze Hopscotch’s website data. Hopscotch uses the data collected by such third parties to help administer and improve the quality of Hopscotch and to analyze its usage by users.  Such third parties may combine the information that Hopscotch provides about you with other information that they have collected. This Policy does not cover such third parties' use of the data.
Disabling Cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them in the future. The "Help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to receive notifications when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. If you disable cookies, however, Hopscotch may not function properly.
Third Party Analytics
Hopscotch uses automated devices and applications, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate usage of our site. Hopscotch also may use other analytic means to evaluate its services. Hopscotch uses these tools to help improve its services, performance and user experiences. Hopscotch does not share your personal information with these third parties
Third-Party Ad Networks
Hopscotch uses third parties such as network advertisers to display advertisements on Hopscotch. Network advertisers are third parties that display advertisements based on your visits to Hopscotch as well as other websites. This enables Hopscotch and these third parties to target advertisements by displaying ads for products and services in which you might be interested. Third party ad network providers, advertisers, sponsors and/or traffic measurement services may use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons (including clear GIFs), Flash LSOs and other technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content to you. These third party cookies and other technologies are governed by each third party's specific privacy policy, not this one. Hopscotch may provide these third-party advertisers with information about your usage of Hopscotch, as well as aggregate or non-personally identifiable information about visitors to Hopscotch and users of Hopscotch’s service.

Hopscotch has implemented and follows reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to and unlawful interception or processing of your personal information.  Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.  While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any personal information.  You can help protect your personal information by not sharing your Hopscotch login information or password with anyone else, by using private and secure Internet networks, and by always keeping your web browser and other computer software up-to-date.  
As business changes, Hopscotch may need to revise its privacy practices.  If Hopscotch makes any material changes to this Privacy Policy, it will notify all users (and former users or non-users, if affected by the change) by posting the changes to, and you will again have the opportunity to opt-out of having your information handled in accordance with the new policy.
Hopscotch may make minor changes to this Privacy Policy by posting the revised policy.  You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy from time to time to review any changes in the information handling practices.  Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when he or she uses Hopscotch after such changes have been first posted.
